After Everest
The Experiences of a Mountaineer and Medical Missionary
T. Howard Somervell
Follow the incredible life of T. Howard Somervell: physician, soldier, artist, musician, mountaineer, and missionary. This memoir details Somervell's participation in the earliest British quests to climb Mount Everest in the 1920s, including his own then-record ascents on the mountain and the fateful day when George Mallory and Sandy Irvine vanished. But this book is more than just a mountaineering story, it gives a fascinating and detailed account of Somervell's life, from his idyllic youth, to his service as an army surgeon and later years as a medical missionary in Southern India. Discover the joys of life lived to the full, as Somervell did.

Somervell was such an amazing climber, painter, photographer….and doctor!!. His book ‘After Everest’ published in ‘36 is well worth a read.
