People Love Dead Jews
Reports from a Haunted Present
Dara Horn
This book confronts the exploitation of Jewish history for the living's comfort, exploring subjects like Anne Frank's international veneration, Auschwitz exhibition, Harbin's Jewish history, and Varian Fry. Horn challenges why there's a fascination with Jewish deaths but little respect for Jewish lives today. The author draws on her family life and traditional religious practice to assert the vitality, complexity, and depth of Jewish life against rising anti-Semitism.

One of the best books I read this year was 'People Love Dead Jews' by @DaraHorn, about the curious love of the gentile world for disappeared Jewish worlds, but rather less love for existing Jewish ones. – source
