In Close Enough to Touch, Leland is a powerful loner who avoids getting too close to people for fear of the consequences. When his friend becomes a victim of his own reputation, Leland must break his own rules to save her, even if it means aligning with a group of troublemakers he's always avoided. This includes sharing space with Byron Valentine, the attractive and enigmatic leader of the opposition group that wants to destroy the organization known as the G.O.D. Despite his longing for a normal life, Leland finds himself drawn to Byron in ways he can't explain.
