How Boxing Brought Hope in the Troubles
Donald McRae - 2019-05-30
Рейтинг Goodreads
This powerful and inspirational book follows the story of Gerry Storey, a boxing coach who ran the Holy Family gym in the heart of New Lodge in Belfast during the height of the Troubles. Despite his Republican background, Storey insisted that the gym be open to all, and helped boxers find a way out of the province's desperate situation. Storey's story is one of triumph over adversity, demonstrating how boxing became a haven of peace and hope for these remarkable and compassionate men.

This book is quite something. It has taken me time to read it because I wanted to consider the immense detail about The Troubles. Sometimes I had read chunks of it twice. It is also laced with joy and emotion and the awesome @ClonesCyclone. It was a privilege @donaldgmcrae      источник

Just finished The fourth Orphan X book by @GreggHurwitz ... like Batman without the mask. Fabulous reads. Love the pace, the change of pace, the start and the finish. A huge treat. My dad got me started. I can’t recommend it highly enough.      источник
