Jelaluddin Rumi es sin duda alguna el maestro más representativo del sufismo. Nacido en Balk, (norte de Afganistán), en el año 1207, emigró a Konia (Turquía) a los 8 años tras un largo periplo, pasando por La Meca y Damasco.
